Customer Service Advisor

A family run metal and plastic packaging company located in Central London that is in its 4th generation of owners and is looking for a new customer service advisor.

Daily Responsibilities

Sales Support

  • Processing sales orders from customers over the phone/fax/email
  • Updating customers
  • Identifying potential stock shortages with our ‘Flags’ system
  • Handling customer queries over the phone
  • Checking required delivery dates can be met, and informing customers where they cannot (including those received through the internet)
  • Covering the management of emails to sales@pwcon or sales@wsay (processing orders / delegating enquires)
  • Checking that all sales orders have been printed out
  • Sending samples to customers
  • Managing Royal Mail services


Covering when required for Purchasing & Stock Control

  • Identifying which products need to be ordered, when stocks are running low
  • Obtaining stock counts from the warehouse staff and owning the stock control database
  • Placing purchase orders with suppliers
  • Chasing suppliers to ensure delivery dates into us are met
  • Running the booking system for incoming deliveries
  • Identifying the reasons products become out of stock to resolve issues
  • Managing products returned from customers


  • Producing labels for Factory Orders
  • Ad-hoc project work

Marketing / Business Development

  • Internet and phone based research to identify new sales opportunities
  • Researching information on our competitors

Skill Requirements

  • Experience of working in a team
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone
  • Strong IT skills
  • Quick to learn new procedures and technologies
  • Willingness & desire to take on responsibility
  • Ability & motivation to work without supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Working to Deadlines
